If Club de Nuit made Armaf famous, the Odyssey line made it a favourite of younger wearers. Colourful bottles, names such as Toffee Coffee and Marshmallow and prices that rarely exceed 30 € – no wonder Odyssey is among the most sought-after Arabic fragrances. But there are so many versions that it is easy to get confused. Here we have sorted them into three groups – fresh, sweet and experimental – so you can find your Odyssey without buying blind.

What Armaf Odyssey is and where its popularity came from

Armaf (part of Sterling Parfums from Dubai) launched Odyssey as a separate, more modern line alongside its classic Club de Nuit series. The idea is simple: each version has a clear, easily recognisable character – citrus, tropical fruit, coffee, sweets – and each comes in a bottle of its own colour. So a shelf of Odyssey looks more like a sweet-shop window than a perfumery, and that is exactly what attracted attention on TikTok and YouTube.

Two versions made the most noise. Odyssey Mandarin Sky became a hit thanks to its mandarin and caramel-sweet base – it is often compared with Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Pour Homme. The fresh Odyssey: Limoni, Ba Ha Mas, White

Odyssey Limoni Fresh Edition

Limoni Fresh Edition is, as the name suggests, the lemon version. Bright citrus – lemon, orange, bergamot and mandarin – with a light tea and ginger freshness. Unisex, clean, perfect for hot days, the gym and an air-conditioned office. Citrus fragrances are short-lived by nature, so it is a good idea to carry a small atomiser for top-ups.

Odyssey Ba Ha Mas Tropical

Ba Ha Mas Tropical is the holiday version – juicy tropical fruits and a sunny, beachy mood. It suits travel, summer and people who want a fresh fragrance but not "yet another blue men's perfume".

Odyssey White Edition

White Edition is the more classically fresh option: a citrus opening and a clean, mineral, slightly marine base with a woody background. If you are looking for something in the spirit of modern fresh designer fragrances but at a price of around 20 €, this is the most logical choice.

The sweet Odyssey: Toffee Coffee, Marshmallow, Candee

Gourmand fragrances – the ones that smell like desserts – are the strongest trend of recent years, and Armaf uses it masterfully.

Odyssey as a first perfume: tips for teenagers and parents

Odyssey is one of the lines parents most often buy as a first perfume – and with good reason: the price is low, the fragrances easy to understand and the bottles fun. A few practical tips:

1. For school – fresh. Limoni or White are discreet and suitable for the classroom. Save the sweet versions for going out.
2. One or two sprays. Arabic fragrances are usually concentrated. More is not better – especially on a bus or in a classroom.
